Sexuality is a complex process coordinated by the neurological, vascular and endocrine systems. Because of this, many can experience problems with sexual function for various reasons at some point in their life, while some may have difficulties throughout their entire life. Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) can occur at any age and affects 40 to 45 percent of women world-wide. It is characterized by persistent, recur-rent problems with sexual response, desire, orgasm or pain, and distresses the individual or strains relationships. Male sexual dysfunc-tion, occurring in approximately 30 percent of men, includes erectile dysfunction (ED), diminished libido and abnormal ejaculation.
